Cloud Backup Release 1.3.0

Faster Backups and Restores

Posted by Fermin Silva on August 23, 2017

We’ve been working hard the last weeks in order to improve the agent performance.

Improvements

  • We are now using Snappy for compression, resulting in much faster backup and restore times. Resulting files are even smaller than before. We tried for example a mysqldump backup and it took 1 minute and resulted in a 1.7GB file. Previously the same backup used to take 3 minutes and was 5GB! You can see more in our FAQ entry “How do backups and restores perform?”.

  • Server side scalability improvements thanks to Redis.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue when doing a mysqldump/mysqlpump with just one Database (as opposed to all databases) that in some cases couldn’t be restored automatically

New Features

  • Google sign-in : when you receive your account invitation for the first time, you can choose to login with google instead of creating an user/password combination
